Christian Education

Believing in God's presence, the members of First Congregational Church join together to uphold these purposes:

to be UNITED in our diversity,
to GROW in spiritual understanding,
to AWAKEN in ourselves and others Christ's
to SERVE the needs of our congregation, community, and the world, and
to EXPERIENCE and SHARE the power of love.

The roots of First Congregational Church go back to 1620, when the Pilgrims arrived in the new world on the Mayflower. Today, we are affiliated with the United Church of Christ (UCC), a mainline denomination.

Ours is an open congregation, welcoming persons from all traditions and backgrounds.  Women and men share in full partnership, serving as church officers, deacons and trustees, lay readers, and in other positions of responsibility.

Members, individually and collectively, heed Jesus' call to minister to the "least" of those in our society, locally and throughout the world. Our gifts help national and world agencies support hospitals for children, work with Native Americans and migrant workers, operate seminaries, and send missionaries to the field.

You are welcome to join with us in First Congregational Church. It is our hope that through worship, fellowship and service, we may grow together in Christian love, personal faith and social responsibility.
