Dave Barber Katherine Godby
Reverend David Barber
Reverend Katherine Godby
Dave came to First Congregational in 2000 from Raleigh, NC where he was pastor of Community UCC.  He received his Master of Divinity degree from Duke University, however, a Ph.D in meteorology and a background as a meteorologist are still reflected in his life.
While Dave enjoys watching the weather, his wife, Lynn, prefers watching birds and travels extensively in that endeavor when she can take time from her private law practice. In her absence Dave is kept company by their dog, Outlaw, and kept busy by his interest in social justice issues. He is a member of Allied Communities of Tarrant, American Civil Liberties Union, The Interfaith Alliance, and is a board member of Camino de Paz Institute.

Katherine joined our staff in December, 2007 as part-time Associate Minister for Faith Growth and the staff person for our Wellness Ministry. She is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has a Ph.D. in pastoral theology and pastoral counseling. A second career minister, Katherine worked in business for 14 years before moving to Ft. Worth to attend TCU and Brite Divinity School. She is especially interested in spiritual formation and serves as spiritual director as well as pastoral counselor. In addition to her work at the church, Katherine is adjunct faculty at Brite Divinity School, teaching in the Pastoral Theology and Pastoral Counseling department. She also chairs the Advisory Council for the Pastoral Care and Training Center at Brite.  Married late in life, Katherine thoroughly enjoys family life with her husband David Grebel and three amazing children-by-marriage: Robert, 25; Deborah, 21; and Katie, 19.
