The Wellness Ministry of First Congregational UCC seeks to provide wellness information, education, spiritual guidance and other resources needed to nurture a healthy life. Our Fall 2009 activities include:
“A Hole in the Soul: Spiritual Healing for the Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.” Conference for survivors, therapists, clergy, chaplains, social workers, other mental health professionals, first responders. October 10, 2009. CEU’s available. Call 817-946-2149 for registration information. $100 ($80 early bird).
Caring Congregations. A training program focused on helping the church learn the intricacies involved in welcoming those with a mental illness.
Gentle Yoga Classes, Wednesdays at 1:45.
Creating a “Welcome Garden” with a labyrinth and wind chimes on the grounds of the church.
Dinner once-a-month for students at The Ladder Alliance, a non-profit agency providing office skills training for women coming out of situations involving domestic violence.
